Handmade Copper Backsplash — Rose Feather Brushed Finish
This copper backsplash is handmade to order from a solid copper sheet, hand-brushed to create our Rose Feather finish, featuring soft, sweeping patina clouds.
Custom sizes can be specified, subject to separate agreement. We regularly work with homeowners, interior designers, and architects on bespoke copper projects across the US and beyond.
Delivery to the US typically takes 3–4 weeks, with duties and import fees included — no surprise charges at your door. This applies to both full panels and samples.
European craftsmanship
Each copper backsplash panel is brushed and finished by hand. The brushing process introduces a subtle texture that diffuses light evenly across the surface, while maintaining the integrity of the solid copper beneath.
Every panel is produced individually, ensuring consistent quality while allowing for natural variation inherent to the material.
Finish character
Brushed Copper offers a more uniform visual character than oxidised finishes. Its satin surface reflects light evenly without high gloss, developing a soft, natural patina over time. This finish favours restraint and precision, making it well suited to interiors that prioritise clarity over dramatic contrast.

FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions
- How long will my order take?
Each brass and copper panel is made to order in our workshop. Please allow 3–4 weeks for cutting, patination, and sealing before dispatch. Once shipped, delivery typically takes 4–8 business days depending on destination.
- How is my panel packaged and shipped?
All panels are shipped in specialist art-handling packaging, fully insured and tracked. Shipping costs are calculated at checkout based on weight and destination.
- Will I have to pay import duties?
We ship globally from our studio in Vilnius, Lithuania. Non-EU orders may be subject to local customs duties and taxes, except for the US orders, which we ship DDP — duties and taxes are included in your price, with nothing to pay on arrival.
- Do US buyers have to pay customs duties on goods imported from the EU?
Yes - but they are included in your final price.
Since August 2025, the US de minimis exemption no longer applies to most imported goods, meaning all shipments from the EU are subject to import duties on arrival. For handmade metal goods like ours, the applicable rate is currently around 20%.
We handle this on your behalf by shipping all US orders on DDP terms — the duty is calculated and included in your price upfront, so there is nothing to pay on delivery and no unexpected charges from your courier.
- Do UK buyers have to pay import VAT on orders from the EU?
Yes — since Brexit, all goods imported into the UK are subject to 20% UK import VAT regardless of order value. As our panels are handmade in Lithuania (EU origin), they qualify for 0% customs duty under the UK-EU Trade and Cooperation Agreement — but import VAT still applies and is typically collected by the courier before delivery.
- Do you issue commercial invoices?
Yes — a full invoice is issued with every order. If you are purchasing for a business and require specific details on your invoice, please let us know at the time of ordering.
- How thick are the panels?
Copper panels are 0.6mm thick and brass panels are 0.5mm. This gauge is intentional — thin enough to cut and shape on-site with standard metalworking tools, while retaining the weight and rigidity of solid metal.
- How heavy are brass and copper splashbacks?
Copper panels weigh 5.5kg per m² and brass panels 4.3kg per m². As a practical example, a typical kitchen splashback of 0.6m² in brass weighs approximately 2.6kg — light enough to be held securely with construction adhesive alone, no mechanical fixing required.
- Can I return my panel?
Standard size panels can be returned within 14 days of delivery. Return postage is the buyer's responsibility, so in the unlikely event of you wanting to return your order, we advise using a tracked and insured service. Bespoke commissions are final sale — each panel is custom-crafted to your exact specifications and cannot be returned or exchanged.
- What if my panel arrives damaged?
Contact us within 48 hours of delivery with photographic evidence (both shipping crate and the contents). We will arrange a replacement or issue a full refund.
- Can the panel be cut to fit around sockets or switches?
Yes — brass and copper panels can be cut on-site using a jigsaw with a fine-tooth metal-cutting blade. We supply all panels in rectangular dimensions, as on-site cutting gives a more precise fit around sockets, taps, and switches than anything we could pre-cut in the workshop.
- How do I install a metal splashback?
Brass and copper splashbacks bond directly to drywall, wood, or existing tiles using standard heavy-duty construction adhesive — no drilling required. Full instructions are available in our Installation & Technical Guide.
- Will my copper backsplash change colour over time?
Yes and no. Every panel leaves our workshop sealed with museum-grade Renaissance wax, which preserves the original finish. As the wax wears, you can choose to reapply it to maintain the existing look, or allow a natural patina to develop gradually. If patina becomes stronger than desired, a small amount of lemon juice applied selectively can brighten highlights and restore contrast. Full metal care instructions are available in our Metal Care Guide.
- How do I clean a copper or brass splashback?
For routine cleaning, wipe with a soft damp cloth and a small amount of mild dish soap — avoid abrasive cleaners, scouring pads, or anything acidic, as these will affect the patina. For splashbacks behind a hob, wipe down regularly to prevent grease buildup. If the surface has been waxed, reapply a thin layer of Renaissance wax after deep cleaning to restore the protective barrier.
- Is the metal solid or plated?
All our panels are made from solid brass and copper sheet — never plated or laminated. This ensures authentic patina behaviour and genuine long-term character.
- Can I order a custom size?
Yes. Every panel is made to your exact dimensions. We work regularly with homeowners, interior designers, and architects on bespoke projects. Contact us directly to discuss your requirements.
