Create a refined architectural surface with our brass tiles, hand-crafted from solid brass sheet and individually treated to develop depth, warmth, and subtle variation from tile to tile. Each tile is sealed with a museum-grade protective wax and available in a selection of sizes and finishes for kitchen backsplashes, feature walls, furniture, fireplaces, and other interior applications. All orders are made to order and delivered within 4–5 weeks, all duties paid.
Solid metals. Hand-worked patinas. Real mass.
Solid Brass Tiles, Made to Order
Explore our selection of hand-developed brass finishes, from warm, softly aged tones to deeper, more dramatic patinas.
Our brass tiles are made from solid brass sheet, cut to size and finished individually by hand. Unlike brass-effect ceramic, printed surfaces, plated materials, or adhesive films, solid brass develops genuine depth and character over time. Each tile is finished and protected in our studio, preserving the natural variation and tactile quality of real metal.
Choosing a Finish
Our brass tiles are available in a selection of carefully developed patinas and finishes.
- Brushed Brass / Champagne patina — The hand-brushed surface appears calm and uniform from a distance, yet reveals delicate, intentional variations and subtle tonal movement on closer inspection.
- Aged Brass - Our signature patina where muted gold tones are broken by darker oxidized blooms.
Because every surface is finished by hand, subtle differences in color, texture, and oxidation are expected. These variations give brass tile installations their distinctive character, particularly across larger walls, backsplashes, and furniture applications.
Brass Tiles or a Single Panel?
The same brass finishes can be made as tiles or as a continuous panel, but the two formats create distinctly different surfaces.
Brass tiles introduce visible joints and a structured rhythm. Since each tile is patinated individually, subtle differences in tone and character develop across the installation. The result feels more tactile and handcrafted, with a decorative quality that works particularly well when repetition and variation are part of the design.
Tiles can also make larger installations easier to manage. Smaller pieces are simpler to handle during fitting, and an individual tile can potentially be replaced without removing the entire surface.
A single brass panel creates a continuous surface without a grid, making it better suited to minimalist designs or shorter runs where uninterrupted metal is preferred. See our Brass Panels collection for this format.
Custom Brass Tiles for Interior Projects
Our brass tiles come in several sizes, from smaller formats that create a more intricate pattern to larger tiles that give a calmer, less divided appearance.
If you need a particular dimension or shape, we can produce custom brass tiles where practical. For larger projects, we can also help determine tile quantities and layout, with the aim of creating a balanced installation while keeping offcuts to a minimum.

How to Install Brass Tiles
Our brass tiles are fixed with adhesive alone — no drilling, no mechanical fixings, no backer board and no grout. They bond directly to drywall, plaster, plywood or MDF, which makes this a competent-DIY or standard-fitter job rather than a specialist one.
- Prepare the wall. It needs to be flat, dry and free of dust and grease. Level out any uneven areas first.
- Dry-lay before you commit. Set the tiles out on the floor in the intended grid and shuffle them until the darker and lighter pieces are balanced across the run. With a hand-patinated finish, this is the step that decides how the finished wall reads.
- Work to a level line. Mark a line or fix a temporary batten and build up from it. Worktops are rarely truly level, and a grid started off one will drift visibly by the top course.
- Apply the adhesive in dots, staying roughly 2cm away from the edges to prevent "squeeze-out" when the tile is pressed into place. Set the tile tight against its neighbor.
- Let it cure. Wipe any squeeze-out at the joints before it sets, then leave the surface to cure fully to the adhesive manufacturer's instructions before cleaning it or loading anything against it.
How to Care for Brass Tiles
To maintain your brass tiles, gently clean with a soft cloth and mild soap only. Strictly avoid abrasive cleaners or harsh chemicals, as these will harm the protective wax, and the patina underneath.
Take extra care to avoid acidic cleaning products such as limescale removers — always read the label first. Even spraying these near the copper or brass panel, such as at a sink or cooker, can send droplets onto the surface and damage the finish.

How thick are brass tiles?
Copper tiles are 0.5mm thick (24 ga). This gauge is intentional — thin enough to cut and shape on-site with standard metalworking tools, while retaining the weight and rigidity of solid metal.
How heavy are brass tiles?
Copper tiles weigh 5kg per m², or about 0.5kg per standard 30x30cm tile — light enough to be held securely with construction adhesive alone, no mechanical fixing required.
Can brass tiles be used behind a gas hob?
Yes, our brass tiles are suitable for use behind gas and electric hobs provided there is a minimum distance of 150mm from the heat source.
Can brass tiles be used in a bathroom?
Yes, on walls outside the direct shower spray zone. Solid brass is waterproof, but the wax seal is not intended for constant standing water.
